Basic Information

• A business license is required to do business in Colona even if you have a home based business.  There is a one-time fee of $50 for the license.  Annual registration is required by February 1 to keep information updated.

• Building permits are required for new commercial and industrial buildings and certain types of remodeling.  Inspections are required for building/occupancy, electrical, mechanical and plumbing.  for more information, click here.  To review the City's Zoning Ordinance, click here.

• A license is required for contractors to do work in the city of Colona.  The annual fee is $50 and the license is good for the calendar year (January through December).
