Schedule of Fees
Below are the fees for various services provided by the City of Colona. Unless where noted, fees are to be paid at Colona City Hall, 100 East 9th Avenue.
Water/Sewer/Refuse
- $9.75 base rate for water, plus $3.24 per 1000 gallons monthly
- $9.35 base rate for sewer, plus $8.00 per 1000 gallons monthly
- $13.75 monthly for Refuse/Garbage
- $9.00 monthly Debt Service Bond (BD) (effective Dec. 1, 2019) for a 2013 Debt Bond put in place for upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and water/sewer systems, refinanced in 2019, projected to end on/before 2037
- $0.90 monthly Bar Screen (BR) for the maintenance and future replacement of the mechanical bar screen at the WWTP
- $2.00 per 1000 gallons monthly Capital Improvement (CI) for water and sewer services
- $10 monthly Asset Management (AM) for the City Water Tower Project and other assets
Nonpayment Fees
- A 10% penalty fee is added on the 21st of each month on amounts left unpaid
- A shutoff notice fee of $25.00 is added for those residents who are two months (60 days) in arrears on the 21st of each month
- A shutoff/turn on fee of $75.00 will be charged at 8:00am on the day after the shutoff notice date, whether or not the water is actually turned off
Building Permits
Building permit fees are to be doubled when a building permit has not been acquired by noon on the first day of construction.
The property owner shall be directly liable for such permit costs.
The valuation of construction projects for the purpose of Permit Fees is as follows:
Business License
- $50 for the initial license
- No charge for annual registration IF done before February 1st of the following year
Park Pavilion Rental
- To reserve a city park pavilion for your event;
- 7 am - 4 pm: $15
- 4 pm - 10 pm: $15
- All day: $30
Miscellaneous Fees
- Colona City Hall
- Appliance sticker: $10 each
- Furniture sticker: $5 each
- Yard Waste sticker: $2 each
- Garage/Yard Sales: $5 each
- Colona Police Station
- Pet Tags:
- $5 each cat and dog (spayed or neutered)
- $10 each cat and dog (not spayed or neutered)
- Bring proof of rabies vaccination and documentation from veterinarian if your pet has been spayed or neutered
