Ordinance - Protection of Sewage System (8-2-3-5)

  • Ordinance 8-2-3-5, "Protection of Sewage System" states: "It shall be unlawful to introduce or make any sewer connection designed to or which could permit the introduction of any storm water, rain water, surface water, ground water, roof runoff, subsurface drainage, uncontaminated cooling water, or unpolluted industrial process waters to any sanitary sewer.
  • It is illegal for a resident to hook-up their sump pump to discharge into the sanitary sewage system.
  • The Public Works Director and other duly authorized employees of the city, bearing proper credentials and identification, shall be permitted to enter all properties for the purposes of inspection, observation, measurement, sampling and testing in accordance with the provisions of all water and sewer ordinances.
