Chlorine Burnout

💧 Chlorine Burnout

July 13 – July 31

The City of Colona Water Department will be conducting a chlorine burnout of the drinking water distribution system.
During this process, the disinfectant used in the water system is temporarily changed from chloramines to free chlorine. This is a routine maintenance procedure that helps clean the water mains, reduce biofilm buildup, and maintain high water quality throughout the distribution system.

Your water will remain safe to drink and use.

Residents may notice a slight chlorine taste or odor during this period. This is normal and temporary.

If you have questions, please contact the City of Colona Public Works Department.
