About the Colona Police Department
Mike Swemline is the Colona Chief of Police. He has served Colona since 1996. Chief Swemline leads a 24/7 department, which consists of:
- Thirteen (13) full-time officers, including three (3) sergeants and one (1) full time investigator, and 1 school resource officer..
- Six (6) part-time officers
- One (1) Animal Control Officer/Community Service Officer (ACO/CSO)
- One (1) Administrative secretary.
The Colona Police Department takes great pride in the extensive training within the department. They have the following:
- Certified juvenile officer
- Firearms Instructor
- Certified bicycle patrol officers
- Emergency response officers
- Taser Instructor
- Forensic child abuse investigator.
- K9 Officer
- Full Time Investigator
