Business License
Colona Businesses
- Every business operating in the City of Colona, even Home-Based ones, must have and maintain a current City Business License.
- Home-based businesses are asked to fill out this Questionnaire when turning in their paperwork.
- Complete the Business License Application and submit it to City Hall along with your Certificate of Insurance and all other necessary paperwork.
- The application will then be taken to the next City Council meeting for approval.
- Once approved, the initial license fee is $50. This can be Paid Online or in person at City Hall.
- Annual registration is required after a City Business License has been issued. There is NO fee for annual registration if renewal takes place before February 1 of the following year.
Vendor Merchant
- If the nature of the business is retail sales from a mobile unit; and
- the intent is to remain in the city for less than one year;
- a vendor merchant license is required.

Peddlers/Solicitors
- Sale or solicitation of sales done from house to house requires a special license which is issued at City Hall.
- There is a fee of $20 per organization per day for a Solicitor's Permit.

Video Gaming License
- The City of Colona has seven Video Gaming License establishments.
- All establishments must have a current business and liquor license.
- There is a $250 fee for each gaming machine in the establishment.
- Currently all Video Gaming Licenses are spoken for.
