Business License

Colona Businesses

  • Every business operating in the City of Colona, even Home-Based ones, must have and maintain a current City Business License.
  • Home-based businesses are asked to fill out this Questionnaire when turning in their paperwork.
  • Complete the Business License Application and submit it to City Hall along with your Certificate of Insurance and all other necessary paperwork.
  • The application will then be taken to the next City Council meeting for approval.
  • Once approved, the initial license fee is $50. This can be Paid Online or in person at City Hall.
  • Annual registration is required after a City Business License has been issued. 
    • There is NO fee for annual registration if renewal takes place before February 1 of the following year.

 

Mobile / Vendor Merchant License

  • Definition: Any person, the nature of whose business activity indicates retail sales from a mobile unit and the intent to remain in business in the city for less than one year.
  • Every vender merchant business operating in the City of Colona must have a current Vendor Merchant License during their time of operation(s).
  • Complete the Vendor Merchant License Application and submit it to City Hall along with your
    • Certificate of Insurance for all vehicles used in the operation of the business
    • Copies of any written agreements between the vendor and the owner of the location where the vendor conducts his business
  • The application will then be taken to the next City Council meeting for approval.


Peddlers / Solicitors License

  • Sale or solicitation of sales done from house to house requires a special license which is issued at City Hall.
  • There is a fee of $20 per day per solicitor per organization for a Solicitor's Permit.

Video Gaming License

  • The City of Colona has seven Video Gaming License establishments. 
  • All establishments must have a current business and liquor license.
  • There is a $250 fee for each gaming machine in the establishment. 
  • Currently all Video Gaming Licenses are spoken for.
